A British miniseries developed by the Disney+ streaming service on the case of Murder of Brazilian Jean Charles Menezes reaches the platform catalog in April 30th. Among a cast mostly consisting of British actors, the production also has the actor Rodrigo Ternevoy, 41.
In production, the actor gives life to Giovani, brother of Jean Charles. Giovani played a fundamental role during the tragedy: he was the main representative of the family in Brazil, assuming responsibilities on behalf of the elderly and keeping the Brazilian community informed about the consequences of the case.
THE CNN Rodrigo highlights the challenge of portraying Giovani’s deep pain without erasing his strength in the face of his brother’s loss.
“The feeling is of deep gratitude and happiness. This is my first experience in a Disney+production, and I am immensely happy with the opportunity. Especially because it is such a relevant project that has the responsibility to clarify the misconceptions that circulated in the media about the case of Jean Charles de Menezes. It is an honor to contribute to such an important and impactful narrative,” he says.
Born and raised in São Caetano do Sul, in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo, Ternevoy recently starred in the movie “Irish Order” (2024), with Lindsay Lohan.
“Lindsay I met at the airport. She is friendly, professional and smiling. I could see that she was very quiet and happy with the production. I think she is wonderful, not only beautiful, because she is really beautiful, but a professional and super good actress,” says the artist.
Jean Charles de Menezes was a Brazilian electrician who became known after being mistakenly made by agents of the London Metropolitan Police, who confused him with a fugitive terrorist.
The story was once the focus of Brazilian production “Jean Charles” (2009) this for the big screen, starring Selton Mello and Vanessa Giácomo.
