Brazilian rock classic, “Primeiros Erros” gains an English version

The song “First Mistakes” by Kiko Zambianchi, which is a success in the band Capital Inicial’s repertoire, won, for the first time, an English version, in the voice of the American singer Derick Thompson. The video for the new adaptation was all recorded in Arraial do Cabo, in the Lagos region of Rio de Janeiro, and is available on YouTube.

Artist Derick Thompson told CNN that he is a fan of “Primeiros Erros” and that he is thrilled to take Kiko Zambianchi’s composition, released in 1985, to other countries. , it’s a perfect opportunity to demonstrate Brazilian music to the world,” says Thompson, who is from Chicago.

Singer and songwriter Kiko Zambianchi is featured in the clip, and said he feels honored by the work of the American artist. “Derick is a very quality singer, he has a powerful voice, a voice that involves, really rock’n’roll. Besides, he also composes. […] I am very grateful to him, and I think he is a talent that could appear on the world music scene”, commented Kiko, who until then did not know Derick personally.

The work had the musical production of André Kostta, who has worked with international artists such as the Japanese Mana, the English band The Mission, and the actress and singer Gabriela Spanic.
