Brazilian hides in bunker with family after sirens sound in Israel

Brazilian Helcio Motta Junior, who has lived in Israel since 2006, reported to CNN that air raid sirens were activated this Friday (1st) after the end of the truce with Hamas.

Motta lives in a city 15 minutes from Tel Aviv, close to Ben Gurion International Airport. Hamas confirmed that it launched attacks against the Israeli city.

A CNN, the 43-year-old Brazilian reported that he was having dinner when the alarms warning of the attacks began to sound. Quickly, he and his family, including his children, went to a bunker in the house where they live.

Motta works as a truck driver in Israel. Last month, he recorded a video of another attack on the Tel Aviv region, in which rockets can be seen exploding above the building he was in.

The lull in the conflicts lasted almost a week. The Israeli government accuses Hamas of violating the agreement by firing a missile at Israeli territory and not releasing any more hostages.

The armed group says that Israeli authorities have refused all offers to extend the truce, which was denied by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
