The National Electricity System Operator (ONS) revised upward its estimate of rainfall in the country’s hydroelectric reservoirs in September, at the same time that it began to expect a sharper drop in the energy load.
According to a bulletin released this Friday (2), the agency expects the lakes of the Southeast/Midwest plants to receive rains equivalent to 73% of the historical average in September, compared to 69% predicted the previous week.
The ONS also raised its forecast for the level of the subsystem’s reservoirs, to 49.7% at the end of this month, compared to 48.5% initially expected.
In relation to the other regions, the ONS made upward adjustments in the rainfall forecast for the South (130% of the average, compared to 82%) and Northeast (69%, compared to 66%) and maintained the estimates for the North (77% ).
For the electric energy load, the ONS started to expect a 1.9% decrease in relation to September 2021, against -1.2% expected in the previous week.
