The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced yesterday Sunday that in the previous 24 hours 72 patients died due to complications of COVID-19 and 5,126 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed.

With 612,659 dead after the new coronavirus pandemic broke out in its territory, Latin America, the largest country with a population of 212 million, has the second heaviest death toll in the world in absolute numbers, behind only the United States.
