According to the Federal Police data survey, 69 US tourists were prevented from entering Brazil between April 10 and 15. The federal government again demanded visa reciprocity last Thursday (10). 15 Australians and 12 Canadians were also barred.
The Brazilian Government’s decision to require visa reciprocity was taken in May 2023, and has been valid since April 10 this year. Foreigners from Canada, the United States and Australia now need to present tourist visa to enter the country.
According to the data, 6.120 entrances of tourists who came from the United States were registered. The 69 barred people represent an inadmission rate of 1.129%.
Regarding Australia tourists, 368 entries were accounted for. The 15 Australians prevented from entering the country represented inadmission rate of 4.1%.
The Canadians who managed to have seen approved and enter Brazil were 777. The other 12, who were failed to be admitted, represented inadmission rate of 1.544%
The three countries mentioned are not exempted from Brazilian nationals and according to the government, “Brazil does not grant a unilateral exemption from visit visas.”
