As Israel continues its invasion of Lebanon to end the Middle East war, Lebanon’s foreign minister has argued that there has been a window for peace, with Tel Aviv torpedoing truce talks. Abdullah Bou Habib spoke to CNN host Christiane Amanpour and reported that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had agreed to a truce and ceasefire for 21 days shortly before he was assassinated. “Everyone knew about it, the USA, France and Britain had been informed,” he said characteristically. He then added that the information also reached Benjamin Netanyahu, who agreed to the truce proposal.
