US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken today urged Egypt to do everything it can to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Blinken told a House of Representatives hearing that hostilities near the Rafah crossing – at the southern end of the Gaza Strip – which Israel recently captured, are making conditions difficult for humanitarian aid to flow into the besieged Palestinian enclave. “So we have to find a way to ensure that the (humanitarian) aid that is meant to come in from Rafah will be able to get through safely. We strongly urge our Egyptian partners to do everything they can on their part to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid” to the Gaza Strip, the US top diplomat said.
