Blake Lively is red again. The 35-year-old was photographed on the New York set of It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same name, with a hair made of tomato-red curls instead of her iconic blonde mermaid waves.
In the first photos from the set, Lively is wearing a pink shirt and a fuchsia jacket layered over a brown dress. The bag with the Valentino logo that he’s holding, I assume is the actor’s personal tote and doesn’t belong to Lily Bloom, the flower girl he plays in the film.
It’s not the first time Lively has gone red for a role. As early as 2011, the actor had dyed her hair “New York blond” (as she and her colorist defined her color at the time) strawberry blond for her part in Hick. And in 2018, she instead wore a deep red wig for the part she played in The Rhythm Section.

Gregg DeGuireIn the role of Lily in It Ends With Us the actress’s red hair is less glamorous rebel and more rebellious young woman, with her red waves reminiscent of Mrs. Frizzle (that of The Magic School Bus ).
Blake Lively stars opposite Justin Baldoni of Jane the Virgin in BookTok and Baldoni’s favorite story is also the director. The film, which centers on domestic violence between Lively’s Lily and Baldoni’s Ryle, does not yet have a release date.
Hoover, reacting to the casting news on Instagram in January, told fans, “Blake Lively, folks. She is the Lily of my dreams.’
