Blackpink singer Jisoo is dating actor Ahn Bo-hyun, according to information from both talent agencies, in a rare departure from the secrecy that normally surrounds relationships with celebrities in South Korea.
Ahn’s agency FN Entertainment confirmed the relationship to CNN on Thursday (3), after local media reports that the two were seen together in Seoul caused excitement among fans.
“The two are in a phase where they are slowly getting to know each other with good feelings. We would appreciate it if you could watch the couple with a warm eye,” she said.
South Korean news agency Yonhap made a similar statement citing Blackpink’s record label, YG Entertainment.
Jisoo, 28, is the oldest member of the quartet Blackpink and the only one who has been confirmed to be in a relationship, despite constant rumors about their love lives. Ahn, 35, made his acting debut under FN Entertainment in 2014 and is known for his roles in Korean dramas such as “Itaewon Class”, “Yumi’s Cells” and “Descendants of the Sun”.
It’s extremely rare for agencies to advertise K-pop idols’ romantic relationships, but the industry is gradually moving away from controversial contract terms that prohibit artists from dating other celebrities. B
Blackpink — which consists of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé — debuted in 2016 and enjoyed a rapid rise to global stardom. In 2019, they became the first Asian act to headline the California-based Coachella festival, and last year they were named Artist of the Year by Tim magazine – becoming just the second K-pop group to receive the title.
The group is currently on their second “Born Pink” world tour.
