The Legislative Assembly and the Chamber of Councilors of São Paulo plan to increase pressure on Enel, the energy concessionaire in the capital of São Paulo.
In the Assembly, since May there has been a commission investigating the sale of Eletropaulo to Enel, called Enel’s CPI. The commission also investigates, according to its purpose, “energy outages, the collection of amounts, operational performance, support for consumers and city halls, the execution of the social tariff, signed contracts, the execution of investments and planned works, as well as as the state of conservation of the infrastructure and energy distribution network”.
The president of the CPI, deputy Thiago Auricchio, informed the CNN which articulates awaiting confirmation of Procon representatives going to the commission this week. There is also an approved request for the president of Enel to go to the CPI on November 22nd. The meeting takes place this Tuesday at 10:30 am, but there is an agreement for a second meeting this week.
Other deputies from the collegiate are also moving. Carla Morando, for example, must submit requests for information and represent the company at the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
“We are preparing some information requests and also new representation with the Public Ministry,” the deputy told CNN.

Councilors also began evaluating an Enel CPI at the City Council.
“As president of the Urban Policy Commission, I will present a call for Enel directors to provide clarifications in the Chamber. If they are insufficient or in case of absence, I will ask for the opening of a CPI”, councilor Rubinho Nunes told CNN.
“It is not possible for the city to be without electricity for more than 50 hours. Lives were put at risk in hospitals, only God knows the collateral damage of this blackout,” he added.
A CNN questioned Enel about the movement in the Assembly and Chamber, but the company has not yet commented.
