Brazilians cook with cotton
Douglas, a Brazilian nurse who lives in Portugal, shared his experience during the blackout.
He and his partner faced difficulty eating, as supermarkets were closed or with extensive queues. Unable to use the electric stove, the couple improvised, cooking chicken with cotton and alcohol.
Rodrigo Serafim, application driver in Cascais, a city near Lisbon, reported that during the blackout, the city was completely paralyzed, with closed establishments and interrupted services.
Persistent impacts after reestablishing energy
Even after the restoration of energy supply, the impacts of the blackout were still felt on Tuesday (29).
Queues formed at gas stations, and public transport faced difficulties in resuming normal operation.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the causes of blackout, and a detailed investigation will be necessary to understand what happened and prevent similar future incidents.
