Bitmain will place mining equipment in Kazakhstan

Chinese mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan hosting provider Enegix to host Antminer S19 Pro devices.

According to an article in the Bitmain blog, the equipment will be located in one of the largest data centers in the world, which has a capacity of 180 MW. The center was launched at the end of 2020 and can accommodate over 50,000 current generation ASIC miners. The fact that Enegix is building a mining center with a capacity of 180 MW became known in August last year.

“Enegix is a clear leader in the design of large mining data centers. The company’s success in recent years has led all major bitcoin miners to consider its data centers to host their hardware. Bitmain is delighted to have a reliable strategic partner in the region, ”said Bitmain’s VP of Mining.

Given the demand for equipment placement, the Kazakh company plans to continue developing its infrastructure and building new data centers in the coming years. Now there is a process of negotiations with energy companies and the creation of projects for new data centers.

“Enegix is pleased to provide Bitmain with the remaining spare capacity in our data center. This step from a leading mining company is very important for our firm and shows confidence in our activities. We hope that this cooperation will be mutually beneficial for both companies, ”said Enegix CEO Erbolsyn Sarsenov.
