Binance has changed the names of cards of Russian banks

The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance removed the cards of Sberbank and Tinkoff banks from the list of payment systems on its own p2p platformreplacing their names with “green local card” and “yellow local card”, respectively, writes RBC Crypto.

August 22 The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reportedthat the US Department of Justice is investigating Binance in connection with a possible violation of US sanctions against Russia. Sberbank and Tinkoff, along with 29 other Russian banks, are on the US sanctions list.

In March, Binance, in accordance with the tenth package of EU sanctions against Russia, closed access to p2p transactions in US dollars and euros for Russians, but this did not affect ruble transactions.

In early August, it became known that the Russians were banned from trading on the first official crypto exchange in Hong Kong, citing sanctions lists for this. In June, the OKX exchange introduced several restrictions for Russian users.
