THE Joe Biden is about to sign a new executive order that will ensure all American women have access to abortion and contraceptionaccording to a statement issued by the White House.
This move comes on the occasion of decision of the Supreme Court to ban abortion in the country after 50 yearsbut also after pressure exerted on the American president by several of his supporters.
According to Reuters, Biden will direct the Department of Health and Human Services to take action to protect and expand women’s access to “medical abortion” approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). of the US, according to the White House.
It will also direct the ministry to ensure women have access to emergency medical care, family planning services and contraceptives.
Biden’s attorney general and White House counsel will convene volunteer attorneys and other organizations to provide legal advice to abortion patients as well as abortion providers.
It is noted that the executive order, which Biden will sign today, will also aim to protect the privacy of patients and provide guarantees for the safety of mobile abortion clinics at state borders, while also giving instructions for the creation of a task force action that will coordinate the administration’s response to access to reproductive health care, the White House concluded in its announcement.
