US President Joe Biden tried to dodge questions from journalists who questioned his remarks about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday (2).
Earlier, the US leader said: “Netanyahu is not doing enough to secure a hostage deal.” The remarks came after the Israeli military recovered six bodies of people kidnapped by Hamas in the October 7 attacks.
When asked about the statement and what more the Israeli leader could do, the US president said “we are in the middle of negotiations” about a possible hostage deal.
Asked about Netanyahu’s comments about him, Biden replied: “We’re still in denial — not with him, but with my colleagues in Qatar and Egypt.”
