U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur in January as special counsel to investigate the improper storage of confidential documents at Biden’s Delaware home and in an office created for Biden after his vice presidency, which ran from 2009-2017. .
“As we have said from the beginning, the president and the White House are cooperating with this investigation and, as was appropriate, we have publicly provided relevant updates while being as transparent as possible, consistent with protecting and preserving the integrity of the investigation,” Sams said. .
The White House declined to provide further details, referring questions to the Justice Department.
A broader investigation into the storage of confidential documents has also been directed at Biden’s main potential Republican rival in the 2024 election, former President Donald Trump, who has been formally charged.
