US President Joe Biden has expressed doubts that the transfer of power will take place peacefully if his Republican predecessor and candidate for the November elections, Donald Trump, is defeated. His statement was made in an excerpt of an interview broadcast yesterday Wednesday by CBS. “If Trump loses, I’m not at all sure,” the outgoing Democratic president said when asked if he expected a peaceful transfer of power. “He means what he says. We don’t take him seriously. He means it when he says things like ‘if we lose, there’s going to be a bloodbath,’” Mr. Biden insisted. Democrats were quick to repeat their campaign message that the former president is a threat to democracy.
