US President Joe Biden comes under fire after images began circulating on the internet showing him looking at his watch a few seconds later. the salute in honor of the return of the 13 soldiers killed in the suicide bombing of ISIS-K in Kabul last week.
The US president stood silently with his right hand on his chest during the ceremony at Dover Air Base, where the remains of 13 soldiers arrived in coffins covered with the American flag. Most of the victims were aged 20-31.
It’s true. Joe Biden checked his watch during the dignified transfer of the servicemembers killing in Afghanistan at the airport. You can see him jerk his left hand to pull the watch out from under his sleeve, then look down at it. pic.twitter.com/M3QVzJbTIm

But the Joe Biden he seems at some point to raise his hand and look at his watch, a move that has angered veteran and conservative commentators.
“Biden, as the coffins passed in front of him, had to take a look at his watch. “Does he have anything more important to do?” Wrote veteran J Larry Hanna.
Another commented: “After a dead soldier passes by, Biden shows his real incredibly disrespectful soul, looking at his watch as if he has to go somewhere else. “I’m so angry, this is a personal slap in the face to all the veterans and those who serve.”
But Republicans also sharply criticized the American president. Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee commented: “Many of us remember President Bush checking his watch during a debate and how bad it looked. “But this is shocking and we will remember it.”
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Kabul airport, killing at least 13 US soldiers. It is the bloodiest since February 2020, when then-President Donald Trump reached an agreement with the Taliban saying that by May 2021, all US forces would have withdrawn.
