Bibi Ferreira Award 2024: check out the winners of each category

The delivery of the statuettes 11th edition of the Bibi Ferreira Theater Award takes place at Teatro Santander, in São Paulo, on Wednesday night (30). With presentation by the actor Tiago Abravanel the ceremony recognizes the best national theater productions .

“Musical theater is my base, my life, my inspiration. I love doing what I do. Presenting an award that celebrates theater professionals is a huge honor. I love doing what I do and I always want to celebrate that,” he told CNN . “Presenting this award has a special flavor because I come from musical theater,” he added.

In other editions, the event was presented by the actor Miguel Falabella who, this year, was nominated for the Best Actor in a Musical award. This time, he will not be the master of ceremonies for the award as he will be in Portugal, showing the play “Fica Comigo Essa Noite”, starring alongside actress Marisa Orth.

The following stood out among the nominated musical montages: “Beetlejuice – The Musical” — which had its protagonist, Eduardo Sterblitch nominated for Best Actor –, with 12 nominations; and “Cabaret – Kit Kat Club” with ten nominations.

In prose, “First Hamlet” and “Uncle Vânia” tied for the most nominations, seven each.

To be considered for nomination for the award, pieces must have been presented between July 1, 2023 and June 21, 2024 in São Paulo. Musicals must have been performed at least 12 times, and prose theater must have been performed 16 shows for 300 or more spectators.

From 8pm onwards, the ceremony will be broadcast on Teatro Santander’s YouTube channel. At the event, in addition to announcing the winners, musical numbers and tributes to celebrities and influential figures in the theater world were performed.

In this edition, actress Nathália Timberg, 95, will be honored . At the premiere of the Brazilian production of “A Mulher da Van”, in August this year, she was applauded for more than six minutes.
