Beyond the religious traditions attributed to Easter the holiday is synonymous with chocolate. It is that time when supermarkets hang eggs in their corridors and sigh from children – and adults – in search of a sweet taste.
The arrival of the period also marks another tradition: the Tasting of the best Easter eggs by the team of CNN Viagem & Gastronomy . This year, the tasting was held on Tuesday (1st) under the leadership of the presenter and journalist Daniela Filomeno.
Daniela gathered a team of 12 presenters from CNN Brazil at the station’s headquarters in São Paulo to face a delicious task: taste 36 Easter eggs to blind, which can be found in supermarkets and malls in São Paulo or in the boutique stores. The eggs underwent a prior selection by the CNN V&G team.
The tasting eggs had to have stuffed being the shell of milk chocolate or bitter and some nuts (cashews, pistachio, hazelnut etc) in the composition of the filling. The values start from R $ 79.90 and can get to R $ 548.80 with weights ranging from 170 to 700 grams.
Dynamics of tasting
The tasting was made blindly, with the Easter eggs identified by numbers, without the revelation of the brands. The 12 journalists were divided into six pairs, and each group tried six different eggs. In the end, each pair came to a consensus on what was their favorite egg among the tastings.
As a result, six eggs were selected for the final phase. Of these, Daniela Filomeno, who was also unaware of the brands, was in charge of choosing The top three Easter eggs stuffed based only on the sensory experience of tasting.
