“Berlim”, a spin-off series from “La Casa de Papel” is renewed for a second season

This Monday (19), Netflix confirmed the renewal of “Berlin” for a second season .

The series, which is a spin-off of “La Casa de Papel”, is set in Paris, where a group of robbers, led by Berlin (Pedro Alonso), attempt to carry out a robbery at an important auction house in the city, which tells a collection of jewelry worth 44 million euros (around R$273 million).

The news was shared via streaming with a video, where Berlin is in an elevator and when closing the doors, a number 2 appears – indicating the next season.

In Brazil, Netflix shared a photo of the cast with the following sentence: “The robbery may have come to an end, but the story of the romantic con artist continues. BERLIN is renewed for a 2nd season”.

It is worth mentioning that the spin-off takes place long before the first season of “La Casa de Papel”, and shows Berlin at the height of his career as a thief, orchestrating a new robbery and with a significant love story behind it all.

“We honored what 'La Casa de Papel' gave us and then we abandoned it,” Alonso said. “The new tone is more comical, more romantic; there is something lighter in your DNA.”

The series is from the same creators as “La Casa de Papel “: Alex Pina It is Esther Martínez Lobato . The first season, which has eight episodes, is available on Netflix.
