Believe in the Magic: Christmas at Park Hyatt Milano

To us generations who grew up with big American movies, Christmas in the hotel brings to mind New York, the gigantic windows overlooking the illuminated streets, the luxurious rooms decorated for the holidays, the imperial trees full of balls that welcome visitors in the halls. Sparkling settings that belonged to a world that hadn’t arrived in Italy yet. Until now.

Just peep inside the Park Hyatt Milanor, a contemporary and sophisticated hotel created by the American archistar Ed Tuttle, to understand how much things have changed, and how much some hotels, even in Italy, believe today in the magic of Christmas to welcome their guests. Park Hyatt, this year, made it a source of pride, and shouting «Believe in the Magic» has decided to celebrate the most beautiful anniversary of the year properly. Surrounded by lights, the Park Hyatt Milano presents itself to its guests – Milanese and international – as a gift to be discovered, an enchanted place surrounded by a dreamy atmosphere. The protagonist of the Christmas decorations is naturally the majestic tree of the Cupola Lounge, surrounded by decorations that descend from above among teddy bears, Santa Clauses, trains and toy soldiers. The 106 rooms and 25 suites of the hotel, just like in Hollywood films, will be set up on a theme, with Christmas trees and decorations, making this hotel the perfect space to experience Milan during the holidays.

It’s not just a matter of arrangements: inside the hotel, immediately after the main entrance, is the Christmas Village with its animated attractions and Saturday 17th December a delegation of esteemed helpers of Santa Claus, gathered by the Florentine charity The Company of Santa Claus Onluswill park their sled in front of the hotel entrance to meet all the children of Milan, collect their letters and entertain them with gifts and sweets (from 2 to 7 pm).

The gastronomic experience

Even the restaurant led byExecutive Chef Guido Paternollo feels the influence of Christmas that is coming. In the iconic space of La Cupola, with its nine meters open to the sky, the menus offered for Christmas Eve (160 euros per person excluding drinks) and for the New Year’s Eve dinner (290 euros per person excluding drinks) will reinterpret the dishes holiday classics.

At Mio Lab, on the other hand, a special Christmas cocktail will be availablethe «Red Claus», made with white vermouth, pumpkin rhubarb, campari bitters and coffee bitters.

In short, everything is ready to celebrate Christmas, perhaps with a nice shopping weekend in Milan.
