Belarus will not allow any clashes on the border with Ukraine, state news agency Belta reported on Tuesday (2), citing President Alexander Lukashenko.
“I assure you that we will not allow any clashes on the border with Ukraine. There will be none,” Lukashenko said.
Last week, Belarus announced that it had deployed additional air defense forces to its border with Ukraine to protect “critical infrastructure facilities” due to increased Ukrainian drone activity in the area.
Belarus’ border service announced last week that border security was being tightened, saying in a statement that its personnel had shot down a drone after it illegally crossed the border from Ukraine to collect information about Belarusian border infrastructure.
