Beijing Express 2023: Martina Colombari, Achille Costacurta and the strength of a bond that will never break

Reality shows have always taught us that putting mother and child together in a television competition could be the best way to cut ties and break up a relationship, but Martina Colombari and Achille Costacurta a Beijing Express they are proof that the ideas we take for granted do not always correspond to the truth. Since the first episode of the Sky adventure game, Martina and Achille have managed, in fact, to find a beautiful energy and a beautiful harmony, marked both by the desire to fully enjoy the experience – it would be an understatement to define Beijing Express a simple plan – and both from the desire to spend time together since, at eighteen years old like Achilles, it’s always difficult to find a way to include his mother in one’s plans. It was he who expressed the desire to participate in Beijing involving Martina who, after initial resistance, let herself be convinced because she must have thought it would be a more unique than rare opportunity to have her son all to herself for a little while longer.

Achilles, as we know, is the result of the love between Martina Colombari and Alessandro Costacurta: he is a son who arrived, as Martina has often said, at the right time and who was able to fill her life in an unexpected way, making her discover a maternal sense that led her to mature, ever since Achilles was still a child, a strong sense of protection. The fact of being singled out by others for being privileged, however, was a risk that Martina knew that sooner or later Achilles would run, and perhaps it was also for this reason that she decided to indulge her desire to participate in Beijing Express, allowing it to be known and appreciated for what it is. Watching them on television is fun because it is very clear that they complement each other: Martina is control freak and precise, while Costacurta Junior is impulsive and rebellious, even if in difficult moments they are always there for each other.

When, for example, in the second episode Achilles felt bad and had to stop the race for a while, Martina Colombari tried to put into practice a very difficult balance for a mother to achieve: try to keep calm without getting overwhelmed by emotion and try to listen to his son without imposing his thoughts on him at all costs. The result was a very tender confrontation that demonstrated how strong the mother-child bond is, even if not always Beijing everything went smoothly. Colombari, by his own admission, is very competitive, while Achille manages his frustrations by withdrawing into himself: at the moment it seems, however, that his future will not be in the show. Although he has dabbled as a model, Achilles’ dream is, in fact, to become an entrepreneur or to open his own business. Right now, television for him therefore seems to be just a pastime, but if there is one thing that both Colombari and we know well, it is never taking anything for granted. Time will tell.
