A behind-the-scenes video from the film “Wicked ” was published on the company’s social media Universal Pictures on Monday night (13). The artists appear in the images Ariana Grande (who will play the witch Glinda) and Cynthia Erivo (who gives life to Elphaba). Watch below.
In the video, Ariana says that she watched the original production of the show at the theater when she was 10 years old and that she felt an “immediate connection”. She also states that she had already imagined herself playing Glinda.
“It's something I always listen to when I'm nervous, when I need to take a break or when I need comfort”, she says about the show's songs.
Along with the release of the behind-the-scenes video, the film studio informed that a new trailer for the feature film will be released on Wednesday (15).
Also in the film's cast will be: Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Tony, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode and Jeff Goldblum.

Based on the famous Broadway musical of the same name, the work will be directed by Jon M. Chu.
The plot of “Wicked” follows the story of Elphaba, a young woman who has not yet discovered her true power and is misunderstood because she has green skin, and Glinda, a popular and ambitious woman who still does not know her true soul.
The two meet at Shiz University, in the Land of OZ, and become great friends, but their differences cause life to separate them, leading them to fulfill their destinies as the Good Witch of the South and the Wicked Witch of the West. (classic characters from “The Wizard of Oz”, a 1939 film).
