A ride event on Sunday afternoon (28), in Ivoti, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre (RS), ended in despair for participants. During the event, which took place at the core of hostel houses, a Bee attack left at least 13 people injured and two dead horses according to the Military Brigade.
The number of injuries may be even higher since, according to the Ivoti Fire Department, several people did not seek medical attention. The organization of the 12th Cavalcade of Friendship estimates that 250 people were gathered at the time of the attack.
Firefighters used water to calm the insects and the site was isolated. According to the city, injured were sent to hospitals of Ivoti and the region and one person continues hospitalized until this Monday (28).

“Ivoti City Hall reports that, on Sunday afternoon (27), during a private horseback riding event, which was supported by the municipality, near the core of hostels, there was an incident involving an swarm of bees, which attacked horses and participants.
Some people were injured and were sent to the São José de Ivoti Hospital and to hospitals in the region. Unfortunately, we also had confirmation of the death of two horses. From the first moment, the city has provided support to those involved and continues to follow the case closely, available to collaborate with all necessary actions. We sympathize with the participants in this difficult time. ”
