Zac Efron officially has his own star on the Walk Of Fame at just 36 years old (just turned). Visibly emotional, the actor declared: «This is a huge honor, thanks to everyone. It’s so surreal and it’s nice to be part of what is a real Hollywood tradition. I have always been acting, singing and dancing, since I was a kid, but not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined being here today.”

Next to him, supporting him, are his relatives, colleagues and friends who accompanied him during his career. There is no shortage of them among them Kenny Ortegathe director of High School Musicalsthe trilogy Disney which marked an entire generation and launched Zac Efron’s career.
The actor is the first to recognize its decisive impact during his acceptance speech: «Fundamental for my debut, I am eternally grateful for it. I still sing the songs of HSM in the shower. Go Wildcats!
It is clear that Efron still honors the motto of the “school” that made him famous «Once a Wildcat always a Wildcat» and it is touching and refreshing for younger millennials and older members of gen z.
Often, when actors advance in their career, winning “important” roles, they tend to want to erase the past and are almost ashamed of it.
Zac Efron’s gratitude towards the professionals and fans who believed in him and supported him from the first moment is a breath of fresh air which makes us want to dust off the saga and savor that carefree period in which we tried to emulate Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and the whole extraordinary gang.

Speaking of childhood icons, Zac Efron had a few words for his ex-colleague and friend Matthew Perrybeloved interpreter of Chandler Bing in Friendswho passed away prematurely in October this year.
The two had shared the set of the film 17 Again in 2009.
«I also want to remember someone who is not here today, namely Matthew Perry»– said Zac- «He was so kind and generous to me when we worked together. Collaborating with him and director Burr Steers was a lot of fun and really pushed me, motivated me and guided me to the next chapter of my career and for that I thank you so much, Matthew. Today you are in my thoughts.”
The respect was totally mutual given that Perry had declared (several times) that, if they ever had to make an autobiographical film about his life, he would have liked Zac Efron to be in his shoes.
