Bebe Vio reveals: «I have had a double surname for a year already. I’m proud of it “

The historic sentence of the Constitutional Court on the double surname – which defined the rules that automatically attributed that of the father to the birth to be illegitimate – for many it is a “historic turning point”, for others a road already traveled. It is the case of Bebe Viowho has just revealed on Instagram: “We took the double surname already last year and we are very proud of it. So today I have both the double surname and the “multinome“. Beatrice Maria Adelaide Marzia Vio Grandis. Now I want to see you writing it on the tax code ». An ironic gloss accompanied by three laughing faces. In support and proof of what has been revealed, the Paralympic champion has posted a photo in which together with parents Ruggero and Teresato the brother Nicolò and younger sister Maria Sole exhibition the doormat where the surnames of father and mother, that is Vio and Grandis, have been engraved.

The family has been and is fundamental for Bebe. It is thanks to her parents and siblings that the 25-year-old has found the strength to carry on after her meningitis which struck her in 2008, when she was just 11 years old, and the disease caused herlimb amputation. But Bebe still returned to fencing and became the champion Paralympic that we all know today. And that now fans are applauding on social networks also for the choice of the double surname. To obtain it, Bebe’s family moved (immersing themselves in the bureaucracy) well before the ruling of the Constitutional Court.

Among the famous people who anticipated the sentence there are also Chiara Ferragni And Fedez. Who had opted for the double surname already in 2018 with the little one Lion and then, in March 2022, with the second child Victory. Chiara had explained the reason for choosing her during her second pregnancy: “I will put both surnames for the child, because they are equally important. Putting only the father’s surname comes from a patriarchal system with which I don’t agree. ”
