BBB24: Rodriguinho calls Isabelle an “Indian” and is warned: “It’s pejorative”

Singer Rodriguinho was warned by Isabelle Nogueira, in the early hours of this Friday (12), after calling the Amazonian woman an “Indian” on BBB24.

The cunhã-poranga do Boi Garantido, from Parintins, in Amazonas, explained to the singer that the use of the term refers to the meaning used by the colonizers when they arrived in Brazil.

“The term 'India' is kind of a pejorative term, the world is understanding that now. When you actually talk about an indigenous person, it is indigenous or native people. 'India' was when the colonizer arrived in Brazil and wanted to say that we looked like the people of India”, said the dancer.

In response, the singer from Rio, who is the leader of the house, said: “I want to learn”.

“We are re-educating ourselves, constantly evolving. From then on, you already know”, said Isabelle.

She was one of the three people pre-nominated by the pagodeiro for the second wall of BBB24, which will be formed this Friday. Isabelle, Beatriz or Davi will be chosen by Rodriguinho to be in the spotlight.
