Representatives of the three powers of Brazil were present at Pope Francis’ funeral this Saturday (26), in São Pedro Square, in the Vatican.
Hugo Motta, President of the Chamber of Deputies; David Alcolumbre, President of the Federal Senate; and Luis Roberto Barroso, president of the Federal Supreme Court, registered in the celebration of the Pontiff.
Alongside President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), they are part of the official Brazilian entourage that went to the Vatican and correspond to the maximum authorities of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Powers in honor of Francisco.
“Amid the immensity of St. Peter’s Square, I feel the strength of a leader who surpassed religious borders and united peoples and nations along the way of peace, solidarity and hope,” said David Alcolumbre, president of the National Congress
Vatican authorities stated that approximately 250,000 people gathered to Pope Francis’ funeral in São Pedro Square.
