Barrage of Turkish threats – Bahceli: ‘The Dodecanese will be returned either by force or by force’

The Dodecanese entered the target of Devlet Bahceli, after Tsavousoglou’s threats that Ankara will raise the issue of sovereignty over the islands of the eastern Aegean if they are not demilitarized, with Erdogan’s government partner calling the Dodecanese “unjustly occupied” an “open wound”.

Speaking at a meeting of the Nationalist Action (MHP) party’s parliamentary group, D. Bahceli accused Greece of escalating tensions in the Mediterranean and the Aegean, typically saying it was “playing with fire”.

“The 9 military bases created by the US in Greece are a threat to our national identity. The Mitsotaki government has not learned anything from the grandfather vandals who fell into the sea,” he said.

And then, he claimed: “The Dodecanese is the natural extension of Anatolia and they have taken it from us unjustly and will surely be returned to their owners, either by force or by force. Greece’s desire to extend its territorial waters to 12 “Miles will never happen without blood and without the voice of arms. We have not forgotten the Dodecanese and we will definitely see them again.”
