O paradise located in Barcelona, Spain, was voted the best bar in the world . The distinction is listed in the The World’s 50 Best Bars 2022 annual ranking released this Tuesday (4) that elects the 50 best bars in the world.
Hidden behind a fridge door inside a pastrami shop in the El Born neighborhood, the modern footprint bar speakeasy is commanded by Giacomo Giannotti.
Paradiso jumped two positions in the ranking compared to last year, when it was elected the 3rd best bar in the world in 2021.
The top three of the current edition is still completed by the London bar Tayēr+Elementary located in an industrial-style space on Old Street, and the sips also from Barcelona, which rose 34 positions compared to the 2021 list and managed to figure in the current 3rd position.
In all, five bars in South America appear in the ranking, with a predominance of Argentina, in which three of them are in Buenos Aires : Cochinchina (42nd place); Tres Monos (27th) and Atlantic Floreria (18th).
No Brazilian bar was among the 50 best in the world. The best-placed national address in the ranking, however, is São Paulo. Tan Tan, who appears on the extended list and ranks 62nd, getting, therefore, among the top 100 in the world.
This year, the house of classic Japanese bar recipes played by Thiago Bañares rose 25 positions compared to last year, when it previously ranked 87th.
Other special awards were revealed throughout the ceremony. O alchemical in Cartagena, Colombia, was nicknamed Best Bar in South America.

the parisian Little Red Door which advocates the motto “from the farm to the glass”, received the sustainability award of the night.
O best cocktail menu stayed with the Ecuadorian juliana from the city of Guayaquil.
The list of the 50 best bars in the world is compiled by votes from 650 experts, including bartenders, consultants, journalists and cocktail experts from around the world.
Each member is entitled to seven votes based on their experiences over the past 18 months. Voters remain anonymous and the process is confidential – voters cannot vote in their own bars and must not have a financial interest behind the list.
The awarding has taken place since 2009 and, for the first time, the ceremony London and landed in barcelona capital of Catalonia, Spain.
