An explosion rocked a nightclub in Baku early Sunday. Azerbaijanwith the first information that emerges to talk about unspecified number of victims.
“According to preliminary information, people were killed and injured in the accident”the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement posted on its website.
The ministry said it had “received information (about) an explosion at a facility on Tarlan Aliyarbeyov Street” in Baku at 03:00 on Sunday, local time (02:00 Greek time).
The number of people at the scene at the time of the blast was not immediately clearbut the announcement stressed that search and rescue operations are underway.
Photos of rescuers digging in the rubble of the building were posted on the ministry’s website.
The ministry added that the fire was extinguished in the nightclub.
