The sudden reduction in the reference prices of diesel oil and gasoline in the international market at the close of this Tuesday (5th), driven by the drop in oil prices to close to US$ 100 a barrel in the international market, made the average prices practiced in Brazil were higher than those sold in the Gulf of Mexico, driven by the Bahian market.
According to the Brazilian Association of Fuel Importers (Abicom), on average, the price of diesel is 3% above the international average and gasoline, 2%. To equip the prices, an average reduction of R$ 0.16 and R$ 0.09, respectively, would be possible.
The difference in the port of Aratu, in Bahia, where the Mataripe Refinery operates, which was privatized at the end of last year, was responsible for exceeding parity, which is not the case in the ports that are a reference in Petrobras refineries. Gasoline in the Bahia market was 15% more expensive yesterday and diesel, 7%.
In the ports of Itacoatiara and Itaqui, the gasoline gap was zeroed, and in the ports of Suape, Paulínia and Araucária, the difference is still favorable to the domestic market, with prices 2% lower than in the international market, informs Abicom.
