The live-action series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” is already confirmed for more two seasons . Netflix announced in a statement this Wednesday (06) that production will continue, but has not yet given details about the start of recording or release date.
The series is inspired by the animation “Avatar: The Last Airbender “, which aired on Nickelodeon in 2005. There are three seasons in total, with around 20 episodes each. The first season of the adaptation had eight episodes and summarized the events of the first season of the animation, called “Book 1: Water”.
The new seasons of Netflix's live action will cover the books “2: Fire” and “3: Earth”, respectively. Just like the animation, the series will follow Aang's journey to become the Avatar and rid the world of the Fire Nation's domination plan.
The first season of the series, released on February 22, ranked first as an English-language series in 76 countries and in the top 10 in 92 regions, according to information from Netflix. Furthermore, it had more than 41.1 million views in the first 11 days.
It has not yet been announced how many episodes the new seasons will have, as well as the release dates and cast. “More details and information about the number of episodes will be shared later,” Netflix said in a statement.
