Author of “Vale Tudo” gives his opinion on which actress should play Odete Roitman

Aguinaldo Silva 81, one of the authors of “Anything goes” (1988), gave her opinion on which actress should play the villain Odette Roitman in the remake of the plot. In the first version, the character was played by Beatriz Segall.

When talking to the YouTube channel Conexão Entrevista, the writer stated that there are no longer actresses like before. “I think that we don’t have, at the moment, actresses like those actresses who played that type of character. There are still some, but veterans… Cassia Kis could make a beautiful Odete Roitman”, he stated.

In the past, the author had joked that Nany People was the ideal name for the role. However, Aguinaldo assured that he was joking. “That was a joke! Nany is a great, wonderful person, but Odete Roitman cannot be a transsexual, because she was not transsexual in the soap opera.”

Even though he has an opinion about one of the soap opera’s most prominent roles, Aguinaldo Silva does not believe that an adaptation of the plot will be as successful as the original.

“I don’t know if it will be as good. It may even be better, but it won’t be the same soap opera. The era is different, the tone is different. ‘Vale Tudo’ was a libertarian soap opera, it spoke of a complicated Brazil,” he explained.
