Police in Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States, are investigating a multiple-victim shooting at Morgan State University on Tuesday night (3), the department confirmed to CNN .
There is a “preliminary report of four individuals shot” somewhere on university grounds, he told CNN Baltimore City Fire Department communications director Kevin Cartwright.
Both police and the university asked anyone on campus to shelter in place and avoid the area.
Images from WJZ, an affiliate of CNN , show several emergency vehicles surrounding an isolated student dormitory. The glass in one of the windows on the top floor of the building appears to be broken.
“Please stay away from the area around Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and protect yourself,” the university said in a notice on its website. Police said they were responding to the 1700 block of Argonne Drive.
Morgan State is a historically black university and had about 9,000 students enrolled last year.
