The Attorney General’s Office responded to a request from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which was made to him by the Federal Police (PF), to extend the temporary detention of Ivan Rejane Pinto for another five days. last week for spreading false information on social media against court ministers and politicians. The detention was extended for another five days.
According to the PF, documents and media were seized with the suspect, which may contain data related to the investigated facts.
“The material is being analyzed by the project team, in order to obtain information that can be confronted with the criminal hypotheses mentioned. However, to date, the analysis of the seized material has not been exhausted. In this way, the freedom of the custodian at this time may cause serious damage to the investigation, with possible suppression of evidence, which can be located with the end of the analysis of the seized material or even the communication with other members of the group, who have not yet been identified, causing the investigative measures to be ineffective,” the police said in the order.
Ivan Rejane Pinto was arrested by the Federal Police on Friday (22), in Belo Horizonte, by decision of Alexandre de Moraes, accused of spreading false information about the performance of the Court. He even resisted arrest.
In the posts on social networks that supported the arrest, the accused made several attacks on Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Gleisi Hoffmann and Marcelo Freixo, in addition to criticizing STF ministers appointed by the PT.
