A music festival was canceled today in Slovakia after at least 15 people were injured in a storm whose ferocity destroyed outdoor venues, organizers said. The Pohoda festival was underway in Trencin, western Slovakia. Organizers initially said there were 8 injured due to the bad weather, but later reported that there are at least 15 and most of them have minor injuries. “After considering how much time we had to ensure the safety of the premises, we have decided to suspend Pohoda 2024,” the festival’s website said. Spectators will be transported by buses to various towns in the area. The three-day Pohoda festival has been organized since 1997 and is dedicated to various genres of music, featuring local and foreign artists. This year around 30,000 spectators were expected.
