Costa Rican police on Friday arrested a Mexican national wanted by the US Drug Enforcement Agency for drug trafficking and money laundering, the Central American country’s Interior Minister, Mario Zamora, announced. The alleged trafficker, identified as Mrs. Rosas, was arrested by police and immigration officials as she tried to enter Costa Rica through Juan Santamaria International Airport in the capital San Jose area. In a video he distributed to the press, Mr. Zamora called her arrest a “heavy blow” to drug trafficking. Rosas is wanted in the US by the DEA, the federal drug enforcement agency, for her alleged ties to Mexican cartels, the minister said.
