A meeting on Tuesday (22) between the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Southern Military Command defined the army’s support in combating dengue in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.
The training of the military should take place later this week and the performance of the teams is scheduled to take place in the coming days.
The work of the military will be carried out in an integrated manner to the strategies already developed by the municipality, such as cleaning efforts, home visits and educational actions in schools.
The capital of Rio Grande do Sul decreed an emergency situation on Thursday (17). To date, Porto Alegre records 4,600 confirmed cases of dengue and about 20,000 notifications of the disease. Two deaths were confirmed. The northern part of the city follows as the region with the highest incidence.
The city reinforces the request to the population to collaborate in combating dengue, eliminating stopping water and receiving endemic agents.
