The Colombian army has found new leads on the whereabouts of four children who are missing in the forest after a plane crash on May 1st. This Tuesday (30) images were released with a small footprint.
A video released by the Colombian army features a sequence of photos. In addition to the footprint photo, there are also several photographs of bitten fruit found during rescue operations.
“This new discovery excites us. We found a footprint of a child: the soldiers placed a size 40 footprint next to the footprint found to clarify how big it was” explains Colonel Fausto Avellaneda, commander of Operation Esperança, as the rescue actions were baptized.
“This footprint is a new track and was about 2 kilometers from our last footprint. This gives us clues that the children are still alive,” he explains.
Four indigenous children were traveling in a single-engine Cessna 206 that crashed in the department of Caquetá, while en route between Araracuara, in the state of Amazonas, and the city of San José del Guaviare. They were the only survivors: the pilot and two other adult passengers were found dead inside the plane.
On the last day 17, rumors emerged that the children had been found and the presidency Gustavo Petro even announced the rescue through social networks, portraying himself afterwards.
