The analytical service Arkham Intelligence recorded large movements of BTC totaling about $9 billion from the wallet of the bankrupt crypto exchange MtGox. This is probably due to the start of payments to investors.

According to Arkham Intelligence, the temporary administration of MtGox has begun actively distributing the funds it held. Today, July 16, in the first half of the day, out of 138,985 BTC in the exchange’s main wallet, more than 95,870 BTC were redistributed to unknown crypto addresses.

According to blockchain explorer Arkham Intelligence, the MtGox cold wallet made three tranches and sent 47,229 BTC (around $3 billion), 48,641 BTC (over $3 billion) and another 526 BTC ($33.6 million) to unidentified recipients. Earlier, the MtGox crypto exchange replenished the internal crypto wallet MtGox: Cold Wallet (1Jbez) with 44,527 BTC (around $2.84 billion) from its main accounts.

Yesterday, MtGox trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi announced that the exchange had already begun making partial payments to creditors in BTC based on a self-rehabilitation plan.
