Faithful gathered this Saturday (26) outside the cathedral of Buenos Aires, in Plaza de Mayo, to say goodbye to the Pope Francis in an outdoor mass.
Some faithful spent the night rainy around the square to secure places in front, whose epicenter was isolated to several blocks since Friday (25).
Images in a big screen highlighted the figure of Jorge Bergoglio, his name before becoming Pope. Son of Italian immigrants, born in Buenos Aires in 1936, Francis made history defending the poor as the first Latin American Pope.
In the Vatican, presidents, royalty members and mourning people attended the solemn funeral ceremony early Saturday (26), where a cardinal appealed for the continuation of the legacy of the pontiff to take care of migrants, the oppressed and the environment.
