Sent by the Argentine Ministry of Women, actress Thelma Fardin is in Brazil to continue the process against Brazilian actor and naturalized Argentine Juan Rafael Pacífico Dabur, known as Juan Darthés, accused of raping her in 2009. She seeks a trial in a Federal Court.
With international representation by Brazilian lawyers Carla Junqueira and Alberto Zacharias Toron, Thelma participated in three hearings with judges from the Fifth Panel of the Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region, in São Paulo, this Friday (11).
“The judges showed themselves to be permeable to the arguments presented. However, the judgment of the declaratory embargoes [apresentados pelo Ministério Público de São Paulo] will take place on March 28th”, explains Carla.
A month ago, the Federal Court declared that it did not have the competence to judge the rape complaint against Darthés and transferred responsibility for the process to the Justice of the state of São Paulo. But the defense of the Argentine actress joins forces so that the maintenance of the case is dealt with at the federal level.
Thelma arrived at the airport in Guarulhos (SP), last Wednesday (9), along with representatives of the movement of Argentine actresses Anamá Ferreira and Melania Buero. They were received in Brazil by the Consul General of Argentina and should meet with the ambassador of Argentina in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, tomorrow (12).

In 2018, the actress revealed that she was sexually abused by Darthés, during an international tour of the children’s play “Patito feo”, in Nicaragua, in 2009. At the time, they were 16 and 45 years old, respectively.
That same year, the actor moved to Brazil and at least four other actresses also reported being victims of them and also trying to take him to court. Fardin’s case was kept a legal secret.
THE CNN sought out actor Juan Darthés’ lawyer and said that he will not comment on the case.
