Participants in the JamboPhone project said that the new mobile device was created with a focus on consumers in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. The new cryptophone comes preloaded with the Petra Wallet mobile crypto wallet and the JamboApp, which provides direct access to the Aptos ecosystem.
“JamboPhone will become a more affordable alternative to Solana Saga smartphones. This will help remove barriers to digital participation and create a future in which everyone, regardless of geographic or economic status, can access and benefit from Web3's advances,” the official announcement said.
The retail price of the budget JamboPhone cryptophone will not exceed $99, which is a quarter of the original price of the SolanaSaga Chapter 2 smartphone. JamboPhone will be available for order in more than 40 countries around the world.
Earlier, the Solana Mobile team released a message that within a day since the announcement of future sales of second-generation SolanaSaga smartphones, the company received more than 30,000 applications to pre-order the new phone.
