CD Projekt Red has announced a reboot of the original Witcher game that was released in 2007. The project is currently at an early stage of development, it is being developed by the Polish studio Fool’s Theory. By the way, this is the same studio that took part in the creation of Baldur’s Gate III.
Earlier this month, CD Projekt Red unveiled its plans for the near future, which includes a new Witcher game, tentatively titled Canis Majoris. As it turned out, it was a remake of the first part of The Witcher, which is being developed by Fool’s Theory under the leadership of CD Projekt Red. The game is being built from scratch in Unreal Engine 5 using the same set of tools as the upcoming trilogy, but will not be linked to it.
CD Projekt Red considers it important to update the game for the next generation, so that gamers experience the same emotions as during the release of the first part of the game. Fool’s Theory noted that they are happy to again collaborate with fellow developers since working on the second and third “The Witcher” and want to give fans another great game from the cult series.
At the moment there are no details about the game. There is also no rough release date for the remake, and it’s unclear what platforms it’s being made for.
