The Bible states that during the Crucifixion the sun darkened and the Moon took the color of blood – descriptions interpreted as references to astronomical phenomena. According to the advanced NASA computational models, that date there was a lunar eclipse that would be visible from Jerusalem shortly after sunset, which would give the moon an intense reddish color. Biblical researchers Colin Humphreys and W.
