US President Joe Biden delivered a “balanced” speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, according to international analyst Fernanda Magnotta.
The American leader’s speech addressed the need to end the era of wars in the Middle East, but with a cautious tone regarding certain conflicts.
Magnotta highlighted that Biden’s speech was marked by a nostalgic and retrospective character, considering that this is his last participation in the General Assembly as American leader.
“He placed a lot of emphasis on the issue of international instability and how governance bodies need to be able to deal with security challenges above all,” explained the analyst.
Electoral strategy and international conflicts
The expert highlighted that Biden sought to focus his speech on topics where there is a certain consensus in the United States, such as the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Magnotta interprets this approach as a strategy aimed at the American elections, aiming not to harm the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris.
“There is a lot of criticism about the way the United States is handling this process. The United States has just announced that it will send not only more money, but also troops to the Middle East region,” he explained.
The analyst concluded that Biden’s speech had a dual purpose: to pay homage to his own legacy and, at the same time, to ensure it did not negatively impact the ongoing election campaign in the United States.
